Verses on the Death of Mackensie Schronce

Mackensie Lee Schronce was his name
Doing what he could was his game.
He put his all in what he did
Up until the day he was rid.

When doing the things he loved most
He felt a need that he could boast.
Singing, laughing, joking, acting
Interests of him never lacking.

Had life, had will, had passion too
For what he had had set to do.
Nothing ever stood in his way
For all that he would do some day.

Had doubters, had nonbelievers
Even had some mocking teasers.
So he took this on as a race
To prove all wrong and win first place.

Forever, never will he cease
Goodbye Mackensie. Rest in peace.

Othello Assignment 3

1.) An idea is more powerful to me. I think an idea can be made into something a whole lot more. Jealousy, however, is more dangerous. It could hurt the person who is jealous or the person someone is jealous of. Anything could happen.

2.) Love is more powerful. Love can conquer anything. It could be the difference between life and death sometime. Lust is more dangerous because it could potentially ruin the lives of many people. Love is when you care for someone and would do anything for them. Lust is when you just want to 'hit it and quit it."

3.) They are connected. Sometimes when someone lusts for something, they act upon it and then it could lead to love. The way someone looks at someone is usually a good sign on whether they love someone or just want to be with them.
4.) Lust is more powerful and dangerous to me. Lust is when someone acts upon a strong feeling they have. Desire is when someone wants something very bad. You can tell the difference when you know someone wants something, and they decide to get it or leave it alone.

5.) I think it means to love someone carefully. It is fine to love someone, but you should be careful. Some people put all of themselves into one person when they hardly go out with them.

Othello Assignment 2

1.)I think that "Flowers in the Attic" is more tragic. Even though Othello killed Desedemona and himself, the children in "Flowers in the Attic" were suffering worse to me. I feel sorry for the kids, and I want to help them. In Othello's case, he was just a big, overreacting drama queen. I do consider both stories a tragedy, though. The major characters die in "Othello." The kids suffer all of the way through "Flowers in the Attic." In the end the mother dies. It is very depressing to know that they lost their father, their brother, and their mother because of greed. It also saddens me which is why I think it is a bigger tragedy.

2.)My favorite character was Iago because he made me laugh the most. He was talking to someone or something was going on, and he randomly looks into the camera and speaks. It may be my immaturity taking over, but it made me laugh.

3.) My favorite character in "Flowers in the Attic" was Corey. He had a cute little voice and he made me smile when he cared for his little pet. I was sad when he died.

4.) I would choose to pick a song for "Flowers in the Attic." I would choose to play "Just A Dream." That song is so sad. It might have to deal with someone lose their husband, but the children lost something too. It just feels like the right song to me.

What/Who Is Othello???

Considering I have never read or thought of reading Othello, I think that it is going to be great. There could be death, sadness, or adultery in it. I also have heard that there could be some backstabbing going on. So, yeah, it might be full of drama. That's every teenagers' lives in school. I don't really know what it's about, but I want to read it. Wish me luck.........................

Dr. Faustus;;;;;Yup! This is it!!!!!!!!!!!

1.       On page 1024 in the character list is a list of the 7 deadly sins. Get a general idea of what each of them are and tell/explain which you are most like to give in to.
Greed is the sin I fall into. I love having things, and I want more.

2.       What do you think of Faustus’ choice to turn from the church to magic?
I did not like his choice to turn from the church. I am a Christian, and I don't think it is right personally. God will take care of me, and I don't need to believe in and turn to magic because I know I will be taken care of.

3.       Dr. Faustus is seen as constantly struggling between good and evil, whether he wants to “convert” to the dark side with magic or to stay saintly and with God. What do you see as a struggle that you go through as 1) college students, and 2) fellow alive humans? (Hint: CHS students- the Honor Council topic is something that came into my mind when formulating this question, it’s a great topic!)
As a college student, I have to make sure to portray a college student and present my school well. It is hard for me in both sections because I procrastinate. I also struggle with school drama. I try to stay out of it, but it always finds away back in my life.

4.       How do you think the movie relates to the book? What characteristics to you see between the Christopher Marlowe and the writers of the movie and what characteristics do you see between Dr. Faustus and Johnny Blaze (played by Nicholas Cage)?
They are both willing to give up their soul for someone that they love.

5.       If you were in Dr. Faustus’ position, would you take the deal with the devil and save someone you love or would you lose the one you love and still have your “saintly figure?” What would it take for you to sell your soul to the devil, in context to the story?
I would not have made the deal. I love that person I am sure, but I would not give up my soul for anyone.

6.       EXTRA QUESTION: In response to my “rant,” what do you see as a problem in today’s society with bullying (i.e.-not enough being done to shed light to it, etc) and what can you do in your school and community to be a better advocate for the end of bullying?
I think people think they are better than others, so they act however they want to get what they want. Sometimes they have too much power, and they let it go their heads. . Nobody is better than anyone else, unless you're Jesus. I think that if people talked and put each other in their place, bullying would subside

Lee Schronce

My character's name is Lee Schronce. He just turned 17 not too long ago. He is the president of his senior class and enjoys school. After facing many problems in his past, he has made a breakthrough at his awesome school. Lee has just recently found himself. He wants to be a famous actor one day. After his acting career is over, he wants to direct movies and eventually, produce them. Right now, though, he enjoys acting, playing in the band, and being apart of decision making at his school. He has many friends. His biggest problem is that he trusts everyone to much and is to nice to everyone. He doesn't have problems with his family, but he just doesn't want to get close to them. Lee wants to be free to do whatever he wants and is ready to take on the real world. He just wonders where the world will take him.

300

"THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Oh Leonidus, you crazy Spartan. No, I am serious. I have major respect for you. There aren't too many people out there who would go out and fight for freedom, knowing that they would lose. I find it quite admirable that you wouldn't send your army anywhere you wouldn''t go. You are a great leader, and I found it a pleasure watching a movie dedicated completely to you.
"One for all, and all for one
I'll stay here, I'll never run
And even though death is certain,
I'll keep fighting
Once 300, and then none."
